Why I Hate Being Fat
Things I hate about being fat:
- Walking through a crowd of people thinking they are talking about/laughing at me
- Worrying about my children being embarrassed about my size
- Worrying about fitting on rides at the amusement parks we go to
- Not being able to go to the beach
- Worrying about people watching what/how much I’m eating
- Worrying that things will break if I sit/stand on them
- Always checking the weight limit on things
- Not being able to shop on the “regular” side of the store
- Not setting a good example for my family
- Having to wear plain/simple clothes because I don’t want my arms/legs to show
- Plus size clothes that look like your grandmother’s curtains
- Not having enough energy
- Worrying about my health and future
- Always worrying about making sure shirts are long enough to cover my stomach
- Being hot all the time
- Feeling isolated from my friends
- Feeling isolated from my husband’s friends
- Not being able to sit on my husband’s lap
- Weighing more than my husband
- Feeling out of place
- Buying food for a lot of people — everyone always looks at you as though you’re getting it all for yourself
- Worrying about what other people think when they see me
- My knees hurting
- My back hurting
- My feet hurting
- Not being comfortable in my own skin
- Not being able to wear my wedding ring
- Not being able to run and play with my kids
- Getting in a car and having to adjust everything to fit
- Getting short of breath easily
- Thinking about losing weight all the time
- Feeling like a failure
- Not knowing what it’s like to be thin
- Feeling unhealthy
- Feeling lazy
- Feeling like my success in my career could be greater if only I looked differently
- Seeing my reflection
- Seeing pictures of me
- Feeling like I’m not ever really being me
- The empty feeling I have inside
